My sweet little colic baby

My daughter at 16 weeks. She looks perfectly calm and tranquil. She had colic outbursts for about 8 months. But we figured out how to cope with the crying,
and you can too.

Check out the colic remedies we used to calm our baby's crying.

Our Colic Baby Story

What do you mean she has COLIC?

I am a colic baby survivor.  I am not a doctor, and I don't profess to play one
on the Internet.  My expertise is life experience.  The following testimony is
absolutely true.  I share it with you with the hope that the various colic
remedies
that worked for my husband and I night after night will work for you
as well.

It all started for us about a week after bringing our
daughter home.  We
were brand-new parents.  Never even changed a diaper. And Iwas recovering from a c-section.

Everything was fine...at first.

She slept a lot the first two weeks.  We thought, "Wow, this is a breeze, all she does is eat
and sleep." Just when we had started to get our bearings, it happened.

One evening, around 5 or 6, she started screaming her head off. We were stupified.

Is she wet?  No.  Is she hungry? Doesn't seem like it.  Then what in the world
could be causing this crying outburst. Unconsolable crying. Like she was in severe pain.

I did what every good parent does when they have a baby question...I called
my mom.

Try rocking her.  Try walking with her.  Give he
r simithecone drops .
Simethiwhat?  Nothing is working?  I don't know what to tell you...let her cry it out my mom tells me.

Huh?  Cry it out.  You don't understand...this isn't any ordinary crying.  It's ear-piercing shrieking.  Four solid hours of it.  Her face was as red as tomato
paste, and she shook her fists at us like she was Rocky.

But finally, around 10 or so, it subsided. She fell asleep. By the next morning,
she was fine...

...until 5 or 6 that evening.

And so the cycle went.  I sought out all kinds of advice.  Friends, mothers-in-
law (I have two), sisters-in-law etc.  Everybody gave their spin on the situation.

"Oh, it's gas, give her simethicone drops."
"Oh, she's hungry, feed her more often."
"Maybe she's teething, give her a frozen waffle."

A frozen waffle?  At two weeks? I don't think so.  No one told me that it was
probably
colic.  Thinking there was something horribly wrong, I called the
doctor to get her in immediately.  Color me surprised when my doctor smiled
at me knowingly and said:

"Your daughter probably has colic."

What do you mean she probably has colic?  That's the screaming baby thing that lasts for months and months!   No, no, no.  It can't be.  I was in total denial.

After a while, I learned to accept the situation and find ways to cope.  I studied the subject of colic like a madman.  And through trial and error, came up with some theories and remedies that seemed to work to quiet my daughter's colic baby outbursts. Because I know I'm not the only parent out there that has experienced or is experiencing a baby with colic, I want to spread the word. I want to tell you my thoughts about what causes colic.  And what you can do for your baby to stop the crying jags!
